Cuba Elementary School Vandalized

A local school has been vandalized just weeks before classes are set to resume.

The vandalism apparently took place over the weekend at Kinterbish Elementary School in Cuba. When school officials arrived on Monday, they found windows broken out and thousands of dollars worth of damage to televisions and computers.

"Upon arriving, we learned that the school had pretty much been destroyed, vandalized," Sumter County Sheriff Tyrone Clark says. "The technology department was totally destroyed, television monitors, about ten so far. They are in the process of taking inventory of everything at the school. But from what the naked eye can see, basically everything electronically, technologically has been destroyed or taken."

Classes resume in Sumter County on August 9th.
