Hearing Set for Alabama Man Charged With Murder

An Alabama judge is considering releasing a man charged with Capital Murder at a hearing scheduled next week.

Thirty-three-year-old Gabe Watson is charged in connection with the death of his wife on their honeymoon trip to Australia in 2003. Jefferson County, Alabama Circuit Judge Tommy Nail set the bond hearing for Tuesday morning at 9 am. Watson was returned to Birmingham earlier this month after serving 18 months in prison in Australia.

Did he serve 18 months for the murder of his wife in Australia or was that for something else? I was wondering because if he did how can Ala. charge him again? If he served there for murder it was a short term.
