Alabama Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey has been elected to chair the state's delegates to the upcoming Republican National Convention.
Ivey was elected to the post Saturday. She served as the chair of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney's presidential campaign in Alabama.
She said in a statement that the delegation is "unified and focused" on electing Romney president. Republican Rick Santorum won Alabama's primary on March 13, but he has since dropped out of the race.
The Republican National Convention will be held in late August in Tampa, Fla.
