Sumter County Sheriff Tyrone Clark is asking the public to be vigilant after a report of a possible impostor Friday night.
Clark says a woman was pulled over last night by a man driving an unmarked white Crown Victoria. She felt something was off so she asked the man to drive to a well lit area to continue the stop, but the car just drove on by after she pulled into a gas station.
Clark says it's not confirmed that the man was impersonating a law enforcement officer, but he reminds the public that you can always turn you hazard lights on and move to a well lit area before pulling over during a traffic stop.
