The average retail price for gasoline in Mississippi has fallen almost 3 cents per gallon in the past week.
Prices are slightly lower than they were the same day a year ago but a full 9 cents per gallon higher than they were just a month ago.
The national average is also up, according to gasbuddy. com.
Wintry weather this past week decreased consumer demand and resulted in the lower price.
These are the most recent averages:
Mississippi - $3.09
Alabama - $3.12
United States - $3.24
