Sumter Central High School honored it's first ever graduating class Friday at a ceremony on campus.
Sumter Central was formed after Livingston and Sumter County High Schools were consolidated following last school year.
The 2012 class is made up of over 100 area students, and the faculty say the ceremony marked the end of a successful first year for the new school.
"It was a great class," says Principal Eric Hines, "and they were really ambitious, and wanted to lay that solid foundation that generations in the future can build on."
Sylvia Turner was the Valedictorian of this class of 168 graduating seniors.
