Meridian Police Department Media Release

The following were reported to the Meridian PD from 03-21-2014 to 03-24-2014

Robbery

At 10:36 PM, on March 21, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a strong armed robbery that occurred in the 1600 Block of Jimmy Rodgers Memorial Drive. Officer arrived at 10:39 PM. The victim stated that a black male jumped on him and took his cell phone in Highland Park.

Commercial Burglary

At 7:42 AM, on March 21, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a commercial burglary in the 600 block of 25th Street. Officers arrived at 7:44 AM and determined that entry was gained through a wall.

At 5:01 Pm, on March 22, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a commercial burglary in the 3700 block of 19th Street. Officers arrived at 5:01 PM and determined that entry was attempted through a window but was not gained.

Stolen Vehicles

At 11:33 PM, on March 23, 2014, a victim came to the Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from the 6000 block of H Street.

Auto Burglary

At 7:19 AM, on March 21, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 3300 block of Davis Street. Officers arrived at 7:21 AM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 9:22 AM, on March 21, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 4600 block of 3rd Street. Officers arrived at 9:29 AM and determined that entry was gained through window.

At 9:42 AM, on March 23, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 3100 block of 10th Avenue. Officers arrived at 9:45 AM and determined that entry was gained through window.

At 9:42 AM, on March 23, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 3100 block of 10th Avenue. Officers arrived at 9:45 AM, and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 4:20 PM, on March 23, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 900 block of 33rd Street. Officers arrived at 4:30 PM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 2:45 AM, on March 24, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 500 block of Front Street. Officers arrived at 2:45 AM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

Residential Burglary

At 4:02 PM, on March 22, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 2600 block of St. Luke Street. Officers arrived 4:05 PM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 11:18 AM, on March 23, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 2000 block of Mosby Road. Officers arrived at 11:26 AM and determined that entry was gained through a window.

Shootings

At 11:10 AM, on March 21, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a shooting into a dwelling in the 2000 block 33rd Avenue. Officers arrived at 11:18 AM and determined that house had been shot into once and the owner was unsure of when it had occurred.

At 12:30 AM, on March 24, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a shooting into an unoccupied vehicle in the 500 block of 12th Avenue. Officers arrived at 12:35 AM and determined the vehicle had been shot one time in the trunk.

At 12:30 AM, on March 24, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a shooting into a dwelling in the 1600 block of 8th Avenue. Officers arrived at 12:33 AM and determined that the residence had been shot into. There were several shots fired into the house. No one was injured in this shooting.

At 12:45 AM, on March 24, 2014, Meridian Police responded to shooting into a dwelling. Officer arrived at 12:49 AM and determined that house was shot into twice. No one was injured in this shooting.

From 03-21-2014 to 03-24-2014, Meridian Police had an additional 13 shots fired calls. 7 of these calls Officers were sitting in the area when the calls came out and they had not heard any shooting in the area. 6 of these calls were unfounded because when the Officers got on scene they could not find any evidence and the person reporting did not want to speak with officers.
