Meridian Police Department Media Release

The following were reported to the Meridian PD from 04-25-2014 to 04-29-2014

Robbery

At 9:51 AM, On April 25, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 2300 block of 17th Avenue. Officers arrived in 5 minutes and determined a B/M armed with a gun stole money out of the cash drawer.

At 5:30 PM, On April 25, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 1000 block of 19th Street. Officers arrived at 5:40 PM and determined that a B/M assaulted the victim. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.

At 8:28 PM, On April 25, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 1800 block of 26th Avenue. Officers arrived in 2 minutes and determined that a B/M armed with a gun stole money from the cash register.

At 10:09 AM, On April 26, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 2100 block of 23rd Avenue. Officers arrived at 10:12 AM and determined that a B/M armed with a gun entered through a door.

At 10:54 PM, On April 26, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 4300 block of 33rd Avenue. Officers arrived in 5 minutes and determined that 3 B/M’s, 2 armed robbed two victims.

At 7:58 PM, On April 27, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 2900 block of Highway 39 North. Officers arrived at 8:02 PM and determined that a B/M robbed the clerk at gunpoint. A suspect was taken into custody.

These cases are under investigation.

Commercial Burglary

At 10:33 AM, On April 27, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 2400 block of South Frontage Road. Officers arrived in 4 minutes and determined entry was gained through a window. This case is under investigation.

Stolen Vehicles

There were no stolen vehicles reported.

Auto Burglary

At 4:40 AM, On April 26, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 1700 block of 28th Avenue. Officers arrived at 4:42 AM and determined entry was made through a window.

At 10:46 PM, On April 26, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 4300 block of Country Club Drive. Officers arrived in 6 minutes and took reports for 8 victims whose vehicles were entered without damage to the vehicle.

At 3:42 AM, On April 27, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 1700 block of 8th Avenue. Officers arrived at 3:55 AM and determined entry was gained through a window.

At 11:00 AM, On April 27, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 100 block of Highway 11 & 80. Officers arrived in 7 minutes and determined entry was gained through a door.

At 11:48 AM, On April 27, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 800 block of 45th Avenue. Officers arrived at 11:55 AM and determined entry was gained through a window.

At 8:10 AM, on April 28, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 1800 block of Highway 39 North. Officers arrived at 8:16 AM and determined that entry was gained through a window.

Residential Burglary

At 6:20 AM, On April 25, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 1300 block of 19th Street. Officers arrived in 9 minutes and determined entry was gained through a window. This case is under investigation.

At 11:09 PM, On April 25, 2014, Meridian Police responded to the 1000 block of Church Avenue. Officers arrived at 11:23 PM and determined entry was made through a door. This case is under investigation.

At 1:49 PM, on April 28, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 500 block of 56th Avenue. Officers arrived in 4 minutes and determined that entry was gained through a door.

Shootings

At 8:24 PM, On April 27, 2014, Meridian Police Officers responded to the 600 block of 55th Avenue. Officers arrived within 1 minute and determined that the house had been shot into. This case is under investigation.

Meridian Police Officers responded to 18 additional shots fired calls. Although, some of these were multiple calls for the same when Officers arrived on scene they were unable to locate any evidence to support the calls.

Felony Arrest

On April 25-2014, Meridian Narcotic Agents charged 21 year old Hanna S. Ivy with possession of a controlled substance. Ivy’s bond was set at $5,000.

On April 26, 2014, Meridian Detectives charged 36 year old Jamarco Jones with felony shoplifting. Jones’ bond was set at $5,000.

On April 27, 2014, Meridian Detectives charged 28 year old Dwayne L. Simmons with armed robbery. This arrest stemmed from an armed robbery that occurred on April 27, 2014, at 7:58 PM listed above. Simmons’ bond was set at $25,000.

On April, 27, 2014, Meridian Detectives charged 21 year old Travell Q. Lanier with felon carrying a concealed weapon. Lanier’s bond was set at $7,500.
