Yesterday Meridian Police reported an Armed Robbery that occurred at Highland Park Tuesday night where an individual was robbed by two black males. Meridian Police have now charged 16 year old Ashley Alexus Lewis and 16 year old Stantrez Grady, both of Meridian, with Armed Robbery. It is believed Lewis lured the victim to the park in order to set him up for the robbery committed by Grady and a third subject. Police also believe the victim and Lewis met each other through a social networking site. Police are actively searching for the third suspect at this time. Bond for both subjects was set $250,000 for this case.
Additionally Grady has been charged with Felony Eluding from the car chase that occurred yesterday morning with Meridian Police and Lauderdale County Deputies in regards to the auto burglaries that occurred in the Briarwood and McKenzie Lane area.
The pair have an additional charge of Receiving Stolen Property because the vehicle they were eluding in was also stolen from Meridian. Bond for those charges were set at $25,000.
Meridian Police are strongly cautioning the public about the use of social networking sites and young females who are luring men to local hotels and other locations in town to commit robberies against them.
