The following were reported to the Meridian PD from 04-04-2014 to 04-07-2014

Robbery

There were no robberies reported.

Commercial Burglary

At 11:36 AM, on April 5, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a commercial burglary in the 2400 block of 23rd Avenue. Officers arrived at 11:44 AM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 6:04 PM, on April 6, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an attempted commercial burglary in the 2200 block of Highway 45. Officers arrived in 2 minutes and determined that entry was attempted through a door.

At 10:37 PM, on April 6, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an attempted commercial burglary in the 300 block of 23rd Avenue. Officers arrived at 11:42 PM and determined that entry was attempted through a window.

Stolen Vehicles

There were no stolen vehicles reported.

Auto Burglary

At 6:25 AM, on April 4, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 4500 block of Highway 39 North. Officers arrived at 6:34 AM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 9:04 AM, on April 5, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 200 block of 30th Avenue. Officers arrived in 8 minutes and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 8:52 PM, on April 5, 2014, a victim came to the Police Department to report an auto burglary in the 5000 block of Highway 493. Entry was gained through a door.

Residential Burglary

At 7:09 AM, on April 4, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 400 block of Saddlebrook Drive. Officers arrived in 6 minutes and determined that entry was gained through a window.

At 10:02 AM, on April 4, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 3000 block of Grandview Avenue. Officers arrived at 10:06 AM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 11:02 AM, on April 4, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 3100 block of 15th Avenue. Officers arrived in 5 minutes and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 11:42 PM, on April 6, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 3300 block of 17th Street. Officers arrived in 3 minutes and determined that entry was gained through door.

Shootings

A Meridian Police officer was patrolling near Highland Park on April 4, 2014, when heard several gunshots inside the park. The Officer responded to the park and took two suspects into custody. The firearm recovered was stolen. The suspect with the firearm was charged with possession of a stolen firearm.

Meridian Police Officers responded to 12 shots fired calls. When Officers arrived on scene they were unable to locate any evidence to the support the call.

At 11:55 PM, on April 6, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a shooting call in the 3100 block of Valley Street. Officers arrived in 3 minutes and determined that a vehicle had been shot into and two dwellings were also shot into. No one was injured.

At 1:03 AM, on April 7, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a shooting into a dwelling in the 2500 block of Old Marion Road. Officers arrived at 1:03 AM and determined that the residence had been hit several times. No one was injured.

At 2:34 AM, on April 7, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a local hospital in reference to a victim who had been shot in the leg. Officers arrived at 2:37 AM and talked to the victim. The victim stated that the incident took place in the 500 block of Highway 19 North. The victim said that an unknown black male shot him in the leg. This case is being investigated as an aggravated assault.

Felony Arrest

On April 2, 2014, Meridian Detectives charged 22 year old Schron Phillips with felon carrying a concealed weapon and possession of stolen firearm. Phillips did not receive a bond on either charge and is hold for MDOC.

On April 2, 2014, Meridian Detectives charged 23 year old Deondra D. Brandon with felon carrying a concealed weapon. Brandon did not receive a bond and is hold for MDOC.

On April, 3, 2014, Meridian Detectives charged 31 year old Gary W. Goss with counterfeit instrument: forgery/uttering. Goss’ bond was set at $5,000.

On April 3, 2014, Meridian Narcotics Agents charged 26 year old Cody B. Warner with possession of controlled substance. Warner’s bond was set at $30,000.

On April 3, 2014, Meridian Detectives charged 21 year old Arcenai D. Martin with embezzlement. Martin’s bond was set at $2,500.
