Robbery

An armed robbery occurred yesterday morning at about 8 o’clock at the Texaco store on 8th Street. According to reports, a short black male armed with a handgun entered the store and robbed the clerk and before fleeing on foot. No further available.

Just after midnight last night Meridian Police responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of B Street. Upon arrival they found 4 people who had been shot with the most serious victim receiving a gunshot to the upper torso which resulted in his death. The other three victims had each been shot one time apiece with a gunshot wound to the leg, hand or lower torso. All three were transported to a local hospital for treatment with at least one of them undergoing surgery. Police are examining evidence at this time and following leads. Police are certain there are witnesses who have not come forward yet and ask for their help in solving this case.
