Meridian Police Department Media Release

The following were reported to the Meridian PD from 02-21-2014 to 02-24-2014

Robbery

At 4:53 AM, on February 24, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the 2400 block of 4th Avenue. Officers arrived at a local hospital ER at 4:56 AM where the victim was being treated for a gunshot wound in the hand. An unknown black male attempted to rob the victim at gun point and the victim was shot in the hand. This case is still under investigation.

Commercial Burglary

At 8:51 AM, on February 21, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a commercial burglary in the 1800 block of North frontage Road. Officers arrived at 8:57 AM and determined that entry was gained through a window.

Stolen Vehicles

At 8:47 AM, on February 23, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 2400 block of Old Marion Road. Officers arrived at 8:53 AM.

Auto Burglary

At 4:05 PM, on February 21, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 100 block of Highway 11 and 80. Officers arrived at 4:12 PM and determined that entry was gained through a window.

At 4:44 PM, on February 21, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary call in the 3300 block of Highland Avenue. Officers arrived at 4:48 Pm and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 1:20 PM, on February 22, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 3700 block of Highway 145. Officers arrived at 1:20 PM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 10:09 AM, on February 23, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 2800 block of Saint Andrews Street. Officers arrived at 10:18 AM and determined that entry was gained through a window.

At 1:43 AM, on February 24, 2014, Meridian Police responded to an auto burglary in the 500 block of Bonita Lakes Drive. Officers arrived at 1:47 AM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

Residential Burglary

At 8:13 AM, on February 22, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 4100 block of 9th Street. Officers arrived at 8:26 AM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

At 11:01 AM, on February 22, 2014, Meridian Police responded to a burglary in the 3500 block of 35th Avenue. Officers arrived in at 11:06 AM and determined that entry was gained through a door.

Shootings

Over the weekend Meridian Police responded to 8 shots fired calls. When officers arrived on scene they could not find any evidence to support the allegation of shots being fired in the areas.
