On January 9, 2014, Meridian Police responded to two armed robberies. The first occurred at 6:51 AM at a convenient store in the 100 block of North Hills Street. Officers arrived on scene at 6:53 Am and determined that a black male wearing a blue cloth or mask covering his face had robbed the store clerk at gun point of the cash in the till. The second armed robbery occurred at 7:24 AM at a convenient store in 2200 block of Highway 19 North. Officer arrived at the store at 7:25 AM and determined that a black male wearing a blue cloth or mask covering his face had robbed the clerk at gun point taking the cash out of the till. Around 10:30 AM a witness saw a black male at a store on 24th Avenue that he knew to be a suspect in the robbery and called the Police. Officers responded and took two suspects into custody.
After their investigation Meridian Detectives charged both 20 year old Jimmy D. Rush with two counts of armed robbery and charged 22 year old Deangelo R. Ford with armed robbery. Rush’s bond was set at $100,000 on one count and $200,000 on the second count. Detectives anticipate filing a second count of armed robbery on Ford. Ford’s bond was set at $100,000 on his charge.
These two armed robberies were solved because someone saw something and took the time to say something which in turn enabled Meridian PD to arrest these suspects.

Today at 3:00 PM Meridian Detectives charged Deangelo R. Ford with a second count of armed robbery in connection with the two armed robberies that occurred on January 9, 2014. Bond was set at $250,000 on this charge.
