This morning at 1045 hours, Meridian Police responded to an Armed Robbery at the Paradise FoodMart at 125 23rd Street. Upon arrival they were advised a lone black male entered the business and robbed the clerk at gunpoint before fleeing on foot. Only a general description of the suspect is available at this time. Information will be updated as it becomes available.

As reported earlier, the Cefco on 45th Avenue was robbed early Sunday morning by two masked black males with a round being fired during the robbery. Patrol Officers with Bravo Platoon were able to apprehend the two suspects after a foot chase about an hour and a half later. Meridian Police have now charged 17 year old Montrell Watts and 16 year old Dontae Horne with Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault. Bond was set at $50,000 per charge. Watts faces an additional charge of Motor Vehicle Theft stemming from a theft that occurred earlier in the morning. Bond for that was set at $10,000. Both subjects are charged as adults and it is noted the two were already certified as adults by the court system for earlier criminal matters. No further.
