This morning Meridian Police responded to 1109 Grand Avenue on a shots fired call. Upon arrival they found a black male who had been shot in the head. The victim, 37 year old Terandy Hampton, was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time Police are examining evidence gathered at the scene and interviewing witnesses as well as persons of interest who were picked up shortly afterwards. Yesterday Meridian Police arrested 46 year old Clarence E. Snow of Meridian and charged him with Sexual Battery and Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult. The suspect and the victim, who is 78, knew each other before the crimes occurred. Snow's bond was set at $200,000 per charge.
Meridian Police have outstanding warrants for the charge of Armed Robbery against 30 year old Kelly Paul Brown Jr. of Lauderdale county. This charge is in connection with the armed robbery that occurred at WalMart at Bonita on Saturday night. Brown is 5-07 and 140 pounds with multiple tattoos including some on his neck and throat.
