The following were reported to the Meridian PD from Tuesday to Wednesday.


No robberies were reported

Commercial Burglary

At 9:19 PM, On October 31, 2013, Meridian Police responded to a residential burglary in the 7700 block of Highway 39N. Entry was gained through a door.

Stolen Vehicles

No stolen vehicles were reported..

Auto Burglary

At 93:45 AM, On November 1, 2013, Meridian Police responded to a auto burglary in the 1700 block of Pineview Circle. Entry was gained through a door.

Residential Burglary

No residential burglaries were reported.

Meridian Police Department News Release

Last night a Meridian Police Officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle that was driving erratically on Frontage Road in Meridian. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit ensued onto Interstate 20/59 traveling South into North Clarke County. The driver lost control of his vehicle spinning out then regained control and drove toward a Meridian Police vehicle hitting it head on. The driver then exited his vehicle and pointed a gun at the Officers. After refusing to drop the gun the suspect was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured. The shooting is under investigation by Mississippi Highway Patrol, Clarke County Sheriff Department, and Meridian Police Department.
