Commercial Burglary

There were no Commercial Burglaries reported on Thursday.

Stolen Vehicle

Thursday morning at 916 AM, Meridian Police responded to a Stolen Vehicle call in the 400 block of 56th Avenue. The vehicle was recovered by Meridian Police officers and two suspects taken into custody. The investigation is continuing.

Auto Burglary

Thursday morning at 714 AM, Meridian Police responded to an Auto Burglary in the 300 block of 56th Avenue. Entry was through a door and miscellaneous items stolen however the items were recovered and the two suspects apprehended from the Stolen Vehicle case above are also suspects in this case as well. The investigation is continuing.

Thursday morning at 1002 AM, Meridian Police responded to an Auto Burglary in the 4000 block of Hooper Street. Entry was through a door and miscellaneous items were stolen. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.

Residential Burglary

Thursday morning at 416 AM, Meridian Police responded to an attempted Residential Burglary in the 1300 block of 11th Avenue. Entry was attempted through a door.

Thursday afternoon, Meridian Police responded to a Residential Burglary in the 3900 block of 33rd Street. Entry was through a door and a TV stolen. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.

Thursday night at 1052 PM, Meridian Police responded to a Residential Burglary in the 900 block of 21st Street. Entry was through a window and a TV was stolen. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.

On Thursday, Meridian Police arrested 28 year old Lavaris A Portis of Lauderdale County and charged him with Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Bond was set at $10,000.
