Auto Burglary

There were no Auto Burglaries reported on Monday.

Residential Burglary

On Tuesday at 501 AM, Meridian Police responded to a Residential Burglary that occurred in the 4000 block of 36th Avenue. Entry was made through a door and a TV was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.

Commercial Burglary

On Tuesday morning, Meridian Police responded to a Commercial Burglary in the 800 block of 42nd Avenue. Entry was made through a door and a TV was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.

On Tuesday morning, Meridian Police responded to a Commercial Burglary in the 3800 block of 35th Avenue. Entry was made through a wall and tools stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.

On Tuesday, Meridian Police were informed of a Commercial Burglary that occurred in the 1600 block of 4th Street early Monday morning. Entry was made through a window and a TV was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.

Tuesday morning at 825 AM, Meridian Police were informed that a 13 year old girl, who was walking to school on the east side of town, was kidnapped and raped. Within hours, through good investigative work and a cooperative effort between the Meridian Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, the Meridian Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol Division and the Crisis Intervention Team of the Wesley House, a suspect was taken into custody and charges are pending against the suspect. Further details will be released as they become available however no information will be released about the victim.
