The following were reported to the Meridian P.D. from Friday to Sunday
Robbery

This morning at 430 AM, Meridian Police were dispatched to an Armed Robbery that occurred at a motel on South Frontage Road. They spoke with the victim who said he was joined in his room by a female he just met and shortly afterwards, a black male knocked on his door and brandished a handgun when the door was opened. A struggle ensued between the two men. The male and female suspects both fled on foot but the female was caught shortly afterwards by Meridian Police. The victim’s property was recovered and he has decided not to pursue charges in the matter. The case has been filed.

Residential Burglary

Friday afternoon at 431 PM, Meridian Police responded to a Residential Burglary in the area of George Reece Courts. The victim showed Police where entry was made through a door and money was stolen. This matter is under investigation.

Meridian Police responded to a Residential Burglary in the 2300 block of 47th Avenue Saturday morning at 11:12 AM. The owner couldn’t advise when the burglary actually took place but entry was made through a door and miscellaneous items stolen. This matter is under investigation.

Commercial Burglary

Meridian Police responded to a Commercial Burglary Friday night at 614 PM in the 2400 block of North Hills Street. According to the victim, entry was made through a door and miscellaneous items stolen. This matter is under investigation.

Stolen Vehicle

Meridian Police are investigating two Stolen Vehicles that occurred Friday night. Police responded to the first one at 814 PM in the 2200 block of Grand Avenue. An alert citizen noticed a vehicle that was being stolen and alerted the Police. The vehicle was recovered and suspects identified. The case is still under investigation at this time.

The second Stolen Vehicle case investigated Friday night was in the 2400 block of South Frontage Road. Meridian Police were alerted to the crime at 10:11 PM by the owner. The vehicle has since been recovered by Meridian Police.

Meridian Police were called to the 100 block of South Frontage Road Saturday night at 10:56 PM on another Stolen Vehicle case. The owner advised Police the key had been left in the vehicle but it has since been recovered.

A Stolen Vehicle case was called in to Meridian Police at 6:15 AM Sunday morning in the 500 block of Waters Alley. The key was left in the vehicle by the owner however Meridian Police were able to recover the vehicle within an hour parked not too far away.

The Meridian Police Department encourages the citizens of Meridian to be mindful of leaving their keys in the vehicle. A large percentage of Stolen Vehicle cases we encounter are a result of the keys being left in the vehicle.

Auto Burglary

At 557 AM Friday morning Meridian Police responded to an Auto Burglary in the 1400 block of Roebuck Drive. Upon arrival they were shown how entry was made through a door and tools were stolen. This matter is under investigation.

At 6:11 AM Saturday morning Meridian Police were called to the 2700 block of Chandler on an Auto Burglary. Entry was made through a door and a purse was stolen.

Meridian Police responded to an Auto Burglary Saturday afternoon in 100 block of 36th Avenue. At 4:49 PM, Police responded and spoke with the victim who showed Police where entry was made through a door and a purse was stolen.

Meridian Police responded to an Auto Burglary call Sunday morning in the 4500 block of Arthur at 6:17 AM. The victim showed Police where entry was made via a window but nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

On Saturday, the Meridian Police’s DART team arrested 22 year old Matthew B Collins of Meridian and charged him with Commercial Burglary. This charge stems from a Commercial Burglary that occurred on August 31st of this year where a business was broken into in the 1300 block of B Street. Over $40,000 worth of tools were recovered. Bond was set at $25,000.
