Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann visited Meridian Tuesday to talk about his agenda for the 2009 legislative session.
Hosemann followed up on a campaign visit to Bill Gordon's Barber Shop, by
returning as he promised. The secretary, who also oversees elections, said Mississippi needs a business court to expedite cases through civil court.
"We want to encourage everybody to know what's coming in legislature, both on voting reform. We have a big voting reform package, including voter ID this time again," said Hosemann. "And we also want to discuss with them the business law reform, so that everyone is aware of what we need to change in Mississippi businesses to keep employees working."
Hosemann said Mississippi needs to ease compliance laws and reduce administrative burdens for businesses to stay competitive with the rest of the country.
