Runoffs Oust Two from City Council
Updated: 05/21/2013 - Two members of the Meridian City Council were ousted in Democratic Primary runoffs.
This is the last week to vote by absentee ballot for the Aug. 2 primaries.
Mississippi only allows absentee voting for people who be unable to vote on election day, or are over age 65.
It will go on during regular business hours this week in counties across the state.
Lauderdale County's circuit clerk office will also be open 8 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, July 30, to allow people to vote. Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson urges people to come in early to avoid having to wait.
