Perry, Markham Each Share Strengths

The candidates taking part in the hotly contested race for Ward Two City Council are sharing what sets them apart from the other.

Incumbent Mary Perry and opponent Kenneth Dustin Markam will face off in the primary runoff election on May 21st. This weekend, our John Johnson asks the candidates how being from different generations will influence their duties on city council and what it is they bring to the table.

Well, I bring my training as an attorney," Markham says. "My analytical skills, my problem solving skills, my critical thinking skills, the ability to examine things in the totality."

"My biggest asset is I get things done," Perry says. "And I don't have to do a lot of loud talking to get them done. I've been trained on how to evaluate schools. In fact, that's what I did."

On Sunday's edition of "On the Record," the candidates will share their thoughts on the city's crime problem. The interview airs at 5:30 p.m. on WTOK-TV.
