Dozens of Cities Miss Certification Deadline
Posted: 06/14/2013 - Mississippi's chief elections officer says numerous municipalities failed to certify their recent election results by the legal deadline.
A special meeting of the Choctaw Tribal Council has been called for Tuesday to discuss the issue of the overturning of the results of the June 14 tribal chief's race, among other things.
The tribal council voted to throw out the results of the recent chief's race, won by Phyliss Anderson in a runoff July 5 with incumbent Beasley Denson, because of perceived voting irregularities.
Council officials say a vote could be taken to put those results back in place.
