The eyes of national voters are on the race for the republican presidential nomination.

Right now Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are topping most polls, and both men are eyeing stops in the deep south following Super Tuesday contests.

"We feel like the nation is looking at us as a southern state, and we hope we have a real good turnout on the 13th," says Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson.

We don't do Super Tuesday like we used to, but we are encompassed with some other states for March 13th."

At least one candidate is scheduled to visit Meridian. Santorum's camp has announced he'll visit the Queen City Sunday. A stop at Weidmann's downtown is scheduled for 12:30 PM.

Alabama's delegates are also up for grabs next week, and it's important for voters across the area to know where to go on Tuesday. Contact your local Circuit Clerk if you have any questions.

Primary races for a US Senate and a US House seat from Mississippi will also be contested Tuesday.

Anyone would be better then Obama. But we don't have much to choose from. Romney is a closet anti gunner who would love to limerick what You can own or stash, and in these days people need to be ready. What we need is someone like Ted nuggent.
