Voter ID Bill Passes Mississippi House

The Mississippi House has passed a bill that would require voters to show photo identification at the
polls.

House Bill 921 furthers an amendment approved by 62 percent of voters in November.

Rep. Bill Denny, a Jackson Republican, said the bill would make it possible for voters to use a broad range of photo identification, from a passport to a Medicaid card.

The U.S. Department of Justice has already ruled against South Carolina and Texas voter identification laws, arguing that they would disproportionately harm minority voters.

Alabama has passed a voter ID law, set to take effect in 2014.

We have finally got a good legislature. Only those who oppose are the ones who want to take your vote away from you but that is how the democrats work. Take your individual freedom away and destroy the will of good men and women to work.

They sure can't say there is any discrimination if they take a Medicaid card. The responsible people already would have ID and the welfare /Medicaid have theirs. I still do not think that people receiving welfare or other handouts should be allowed to vote either. It is a great responsibility to vote and they are not responsible and would lean towards a handout candidate being their only concern. That would be mostly Democrat. I admit that is a little discriminate but so what, truth hurts, that's why they have political correctness. WHAAA
