The Young Professionals of Meridian invited candidates to participate in a rally Tuesday to let the public know where they stand on the issues.
The event at MSU Meridian's Kahlmus Auditorium continues until 7:30 p.m.
YPM said it believes the future is really in the hands of young people, and it wanted to help inform young voters.
"As young people, we realize we are the future and we are ready to start holding candidates accountable," said Fred Anthony Mansour. "So, what better way than to have a night where we get everybody in one room and we hear what everybody's got to say, as far as how they have led the county or how they plan to?"
The primary election is Aug. 2; the general election is Nov. 8.
Newscenter 11 anchor/producer Wade Phillips emceed the event.
