Lights On Afterschool Day Proclaimed

Proclamations were presented Thursday afternoon at the Boys and Girls Club by the mayor and board of supervisors for Lights On Afterschool Day.

It's being celebrated in 7,500 communities across the nation.

The local observance includes the Afterschool (Not) Idle singing competition.

The top forty semi-finalists will perform at the J.C. Penney court at Bonita Lakes Mall on Saturday, Oct. 27.

The top three finalists will take the stage at the MSU Riley center on Nov. 15. The top prize is a chance to record a demo in Nashville.
