Jimmie Rodgers' musical legacy stretches far and wide. It's as far and wide as the other side of the world, to be exact.
The Jimmie Rodgers Museum welcomed guest, Barry Skinner, Tuesday. Skinner has a country music museum in his native New Zealand.
He's also a huge fan of Rodgers.
"He was the Father of Country Music, and had very tragic circumstances to end his life so young," said Skinner. "But his music, and a lot of artists are singing his kind of music, and he wrote some great songs, too."
Tuesday marked Skinner's second visit to Meridian. he was here for the Jimmie Rodgers Festival in 1987.
