Afterschool (Not) Idle Takes Center Stage

Hundreds of school children gathered at the MSU Riley Center Thursday for the third annual Lights On Afterschool Rally, to celebrate afterschool programs.

A highlight is the Afterschool (Not) Idle singing competition, sponsored by Peavey Electronics. Three finalists took the stage.

Alex Goldman of Lamar High School took first place in the contest. He wins a free demo recording session.

Cecilee Crain of Meridian High School is first runner-up. She wins a Peavey guitar and amplifier.

Second runner-up, Jodi McKeithen of West Lauderdale High School, won
a Peavey Stage Pack® guitar starter kit.

Recording artist, Cupid, was the guest performer.

    These guys were absolutely great. I was blown away that they are just high school kids. Way to go, Alex, Cecilee, and Jodi!!

    There was some technical glitch in loading to the "video included" tab. The video may be viewed from the video box on our home page of Scroll down the list of selections under the abc11 WTOK-TV box and select Afterschool Not Idle Results.
