The weekend brings a list of events for the 2009 Jimmie Rodgers Festival in downtown Meridian.
Concerts take place Friday night at Singing Brakeman Park, next to Union Station on Front Street. The music starts at 7 p.m., featuring Mayhem String Band & Mississippi Chris Sharp, Jang-A-Lang Band and the Spunk Monkees.
Saturday's events start at 9 a.m. with the Top Ten Youth & Adult Talent Contest (winner will open for Santa Fe and James Otto).
Featured entertainment starts at 7:30 p.m. Santa Fe and Academy of Country Music nominee James Otto follow the talent competition winner.
