Mississippi's Giant House Party kicked off Friday in Neshoba County. It will run through July 31.
As usual, thousands of people are taking part in the Neshoba County Fair. Many of them live in the more than 600 cabins at the fairgrounds.
The next eight days are expected to be full of a lot of fun, musical entertainment, and political speaking.
"It's an important thing for a lot of the families because some of them have to come from just about every state in the United States. So it's a family reunion," said fair manager Doug Johnson. "It's, again as we mentioned, Mississippi's Giant House Party. And this is about the only time that some of the families are able to get together, so it's important to them that they come to Neshoba County Fair. And it's I guess it's just kindly tradition as well."
This year marks the 120th edition of the fair. It began in 1889.
Headline entertainment includes the Harper, Morgan, and Smith Rodeo, Gold City, Bucky Covington, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Neal McCoy, and Little Big Town.
