Some of Mississippi's most famous authors were honored Tuesday in Meridian.
Mississippi authors Eudora Welty, Tennessee Williams and William Faulkner were recognized with stars on the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center Walk of Fame, which is on the sidewalk outside the MSU Riley Center.
The walk of fame is a way to honor Mississippians who have made major contributions to arts and entertainment.
"The state of Mississippi's legacy goes so much further than just music and sports, and other types of entertainment," said Richelle Putnam of the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Center. "We have produced some of the greatest writers that have ever possibly been in this world, which would include William Faulkner."
Welty, Williams and Faulkner join Jimmie Rodgers and B.B King on the walk of fame.
