The Neshoba County Fair begins in exactly one week at the Neshoba County Fairgrounds. As always, it will be a week of fun, food, political speaking, and renewing old acquaintances.
Organizers of the fair say they have high expectations for this year.
"It kicks off next Friday and we're looking forward to a big eight-day run," said the fair's program coordinator Scott Bounds. "It's going to be summertime in July in Mississippi. "
Tickets are $15 per day, or $40 for a season ticket. A link to the fair's website is provided below.
The second marker on Mississippi's Country Music Trail will be unveiled at the fair July 25. It recognizes Philadelphia native Marty Stuart. It will later be moved to Philadelphia, to the block where Stuart bought his first guitar, at the corner of Byrd Avenue and Main Street.
Stuart will be joined at the unveiling by Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant and other state and local officials.
