A popular downtown festival and farmers market is returning to Meridian this spring.
Plans for the Earth's Bounty Farmers Market Festival were announced Wednesday.
The monthly event begins Saturday, April 6 at Singing Brakeman Park on Front Street near Union Station, and will be held the first Saturday of each month through October.
The festival offers fresh produce and homemade food products along with local entertainment, children's activities and other special events . . . Admission is free.
"This year our committee has come up with some great new ideas, some fun activities. We've brought on a presenting sponsor to help underwrite the cost," said John McClure, director of Meridian Main Street. "We're continuing to get great support from the city of meridian, the tourism bureau and so on, so i think the sky's the limit."
This year's festival is sponsored by the Greater Meridian Health Clinic.
