Community leaders unveiled a plan Tuesday they hope will help people in this area better keep up with what's happening locally.
The Lauderdale County Tourism Commission, along with Meridian Main Street and the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation, announced the creation of an online community calendar.
It's designed to show everything happening in Meridian in one place.
You may view the calendar by going to any of the three organization's websites and clicking on Calendar, or by going to a designated website. A link is provided below.
"We've been meeting monthly to try to figure out what we need to work on for our community," said tourism director, Dede Mogollon. "And the roll-out for this calendar is exactly what we've come up with."
Tourism will hold training class Thursday at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the MSU Riley Center to help people and organizations learn how to put events on the calendar.
