Meridian, Miss. Music legends Ricky Skaggs and Bruce Hornsby will appear together on the Riley Center stage Sunday.
Skaggs had monster country hits in the 80s and 90s like "Heart Broke" and "Country Boy". Hornsby's known for his acoustical pop sound in "Mandolin Rain" and "The Way It Is".
Don't expect to hear Skaggs' many country hits. These Grammy-winning artists will perform a fresh bluegrass sound from their collaborative #1 bluegrass album, "Cluck Ol' Hen".
"We get a chance to do that when we're playing with our bluegrass band full-time, you know," said Skaggs. "But this is just a different show. This is Bruce playing bluegrass and Ricky and Kentucky Thunder playing some of Bruce's hits, like "The Way It Is" and "White Wheel Limousine", "Mandolin Rain". Some of those things that he's had hits on. But we're just doing them bluegrass style."
Skaggs will also have his autobiography "Kentucky Traveler" for sale.
Tickets for the Skaggs and Hornsby show are $65 and $59. The show starts at 6 p.m. Sunday.
