Meridian, Miss. Meridian's Temple Theatre is hosting a fun family event Sunday to highlight its historic pipe organ.
Everyone is invited for the free event featuring the classic silent movie, Cops, starring Buster Keaton. The doors open at 1 p.m. The show starts at 2 p.m.
Manager, Roger Smith, says the temple is the largest movie palace in the state, with one of only two organs of its kind in the state:
"It's basically a museum of film history of the past, for the state of Mississippi," said Roger Smith. "So it's very important that you bring your young children down to keep them educated on the history of film and what investment the state of Mississippi has in the arts and entertainment here in Meridian."
An Atlanta organist is performing for the event. There is no charge but donations will be accepted for the restoration of the organ.
