Arrest Made in Attempted Rape

A Kemper County man is in jail after officials say he attempted to rape an elderly woman. The victim was 79-years-old.
The Kemper County Sheriff's Department said the incident happened Monday in the New Hope community.
According to Sheriff James Moore, the suspect had previously been convicted for raping his own grandmother.
