The developer for two proposed new hotels in Meridian is requesting some assistance from the city. John Tampa met with city council members Tuesday morning. He's asking the city to pay up to $400,000 for a road that would lead to the Marriott hotels and two restaurants that would be built. Those proposed developments, along with office space, would be constructed on land off of highway 80 near Cracker Barrel restaurant. Council members are considering the request.
