Emergency Kits

Updated: Mon 11:47 AM, Aug 01, 2011

Emergency kits are being distributed to many residents in Livingston and Epps, Ala., this week.

The free water purifiers and shelter-in-place kits are provided by the Sumter County Emergency Management Agency.

They're being distributed as a precautionary measure for residents who live near railroad tracks., to help protect them from fumes emitted by the trains.

In coming days, EMA officials say the kits will also be provided for residents in other parts of Sumter County who live near the train tracks.
