Fatal Accident

A west Alabama woman died in what appears to have been a weather-related accident.

Koen Lindsey of Silas was killed from injuries sustained when her vehicle apparently hydroplaned Wednesday.

The accident happened just before 6 p.m. on Highway 17 North in Toxey.

Investigators say Lindsey was driving to work. The driver of a passing car received non-life threatening injuries.

Koen was my nurse when I was in the hospital recently. She was one of the sweetest and most caring people I met there! We talked about her future and her dreams. Her loss is a big one!!! She was such a wonderful person.

How sad and unbelievable to lose one of our students and fellow nurses. May God comfort your family and the faculty at USA will be remembering you.

She was one of the RN's on duty during my husband's recent stay in the hospital. Very professional and caring. It's hard to understand life sometimes and we're feeling so sad for the family.
