A plea is being made to local men, which could save their lives. Free prostate cancer screenings will be offered Saturday, April 19th at the Sumter County Health Department in Livingston. Although the service is being provided by the Urology Centers of Alabama, men from anywhere can participate.
"Men do this! Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer in the U.S. Especially for African-American men, it's relevant that they do get checked out," says Sumter County Commissioner Marcus Campbell.
The free screenings will be offered from 10 AM until 2 PM Saturday, April 19th at the Sumter County Health Department in Livingston. Appointments are not required.
