Almost forty arrests have been made as part of an effort to improve roadway safety near the coal plant site in Kemper County. During a nine hour period over the last two weeks, Kemper County deputies made 39 arrests. This was part of a coordinated effort on Highways 493, 495 and 16 West. Sheriff James Moore says similar efforts will continue to improve roadway safety within those areas.
