A Meridian family is making a desperate plea for information to find their loved one.
'This is very unusual for my nephew,' said Monae Sims, who describes Alex Sims as the backbone of their family.
'Vanished, vanished into thin air and nobody knows anything about where he's at. It's just hard.'
Lauren Sims says she last saw her 28-year-old husband, Alex, around one or two in the afternoon Saturday at her mother's house.
'I suspect it was foul play involved and I'm keeping hope alive that he is alive, but I don't know,' said Lauren Sims. 'Right now we're just trying to think positive.'
Prior to his disappearance, Lauren says her husband had been seen Saturday afternoon at Queen City Truck Stop. She says the last place he is thought to have been seen is at a residence on 64th Avenue.
Lauren and Monae both say it's not like their loved one to not contact anyone.
"If he leaves and he doesn't come home that night, that next morning he'll call me,' said Lauren. 'He'll call his mom. He'll call anybody. He'll call his friends, anybody. He'll call somebody and let them know that he's going out of town. He'll also call them back the next day. He's never done this and not called at all.'
'Somebody's got to know something, somebody,' says Monae Sims.
Alex 'Drico' Sims is a 28-year-old black male with a light complexion. He's about 5 '8' and weighs160 pounds. Anyone with information on where he can be found is asked to call the Meridian Police Department at (601) 485-1859. Callers can remain anonymous.
