Thousands of people are expected to file through the Mississippi Capitol Thursday to pay final respects to former Gov. Kirk Fordice.
His flag-draped casket will be on public display from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the second floor rotunda.
Fordice died Tuesday of complications of leukemia. He was 70.
An Army National Guard unit will provide an honor guard at the Capitol and will give a 19-gun salute at the cemetery Friday.
The former governor is to be buried in Madison County.
