Two Flights Cancelled

As the nation prepares to observe the first anniversary of last Sept. 11, federal authorities have placed the nation on a higher state of alert.

Here at home, law enforcement officials told NewsCenter 11 that nothing would be out of the ordinary for them. They have received no specific instructions except to watch for suspicious activity.

Meanwhile at Meridian Regional Airport, Tom Williams, CEO of the airport authority said Atlantic Southeast Airlines has cancelled two flights for Wednesday.

The 4:30 p.m. departing flight from Meridian and the 4:30 p.m. flight from Atlanta to Meridian were both cancelled.

Four other flights will remain on schedule.
