The Queen City Timekeepers Club Friday donated and installed an outdoor clock at Dumont Plaza.
M.L. Landrum said it's really a look to the past.
"You know we used to have some tower clocks. We had a tower clock in Lauderdale County courthouse and there were other buildings that have since been demolished that had tower clocks in them," Landrum said. "So this is one way we can promote the NACC; we can do something for the city and provide a beautiful monument downtown in Dumont Plaza."
The clock, which is made of cast aluminum, is run by a battery that needs replacement only once a year.
