The Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed President Bush for a second term.
The organization said the president has proven himself to be a friend of law enforcement and credits his administration for being instrumental in the drop of the violent crime rate.
"There's a lot of money that's been given to all agencies across our country, not just law enforcement but emergency responders, in order to prepare us for response to terrorism," said Keith McCary. "The crime rate is reduced in the last few years and you can only attribute it to funding and the leadership we're getting from our president."
The largest law enforcement labor union in the nation has over 300,000 members.
Sen. John Kerry has, among other groups, been endorsed by the International Association of Fire Fighters. It represents 263,000 firefighters and paramedics.
