With the election less than three weeks away, election officials in Lauderdale County are working to make sure everything is in order for voters in the upcoming election.
Ballot counting machines were checked Wednesday and were in good working order, according to Election Commission Chairman Ann Watts.
"We're also double-checking registration forms to make sure that everyone's on the voter books that should be," said Watts. "We want everyone who is able to vote in Lauderdale County to be able to vote and we've gone to great lengths to see that that happens."
Officials said at last count, there were about 2,000 new registered voters this year.
