Miss America

The new Miss America is Miss Illinois, Erika Harold. The 22-year-old is an opera singer from Urbana, Illinois.

Harold says she wants to practice public policy law and run for a national office someday. She was supposed to start at Harvard law school this fall, but delayed her enrollment after winning her state pageant and a shot at Miss America.

Meanwhile, Miss Alabama Scarlotte Deupree was first runner up. As for Miss Mississippi Jennifer Adcock, she was among the top 10.
